Electrical Services for Your Home

We hold an electrical contractor license, TECL 36609, carry NABCEP certification and have 5 years in business. We work on every part of the house: panel upgrades, electrical repair, whole-home rewiring, wiring for remodels and additions, lighting, EV charger installation, surge protection and code corrections after an inspection. On the backup power side, we install and service generators and set up home battery backup systems. Torque and cleans are on the list too: we tighten and inspect panel connections so loose terminals do not overheat.

We tighten every lug and breaker terminal to the maker's spec, clear out dust and debris, and note any heat marks or corrosion before they turn into repairs.

How a Job Runs

Most jobs follow the same calm sequence, so you know what is happening in your home and when.

  1. 1

    Book a service visit

You call, describe what is going on, and we set a time that suits your schedule.

  2. 2

    Inspect and test

We look at the panel, test the circuits involved and trace the problem or plan the new work. You see what we see.

  3. 3

    Written estimate

You get a line-item estimate and, where it matters, a note on how each option affects running costs. You decide in your own time.

  4. 4

    Permit and careful installation

We pull the permit when one is required, protect floors and furniture, and do the work neatly. Power is shut off only to the circuits we need, for as short a time as we can manage.

  5. 5

    Inspection and walkthrough

We schedule any required inspection, clean up, label the panel and show you what was done before we leave.

What Sets the Price of an Electrical Job

Every house is wired a little differently, so we quote only after we have seen the work in person. These are the things that move the price most, and understanding them up front helps you plan and weigh your options.

After the visit, you get a written estimate that lists each part of the work separately. Nothing is added without your approval.

How big the job and load are
Adding one outlet is a small task next to running a 240-volt circuit for a range or charger. Heavier loads need thicker wire, bigger breakers and sometimes panel capacity your house does not have today.
Access to the wiring
An open attic or crawlspace makes for quicker runs. Finished walls, slab floors and tight soffits slow the work and leave more to patch.
The condition of existing wiring
Aluminum branch circuits, cracked insulation, a crowded panel or earlier work that was not to code may have to be corrected before anything new can be tied in safely.
The equipment and fixtures you choose
A basic fixture is cheaper than a dimmable high-efficiency model, and generator and battery prices rise with capacity. We explain the tradeoffs, including what each option costs to run.
Permits, inspections and utility work
Many jobs require a permit and inspection under local jurisdiction rules. Panel and service work may also involve scheduling the utility to disconnect and reconnect power.

About River Oaks Electrician

We are a local electrical company working in homes across River Oaks and the neighboring towns. Our focus is residential work, done the way you would want it done in your own house: measured, tidy and explained in plain terms.

Long summers here put real demand on air conditioning, which makes the condition of your panel and circuits matter for both safety and the monthly bill. We look at your home as a whole system, so a repair today does not create a problem or a wasteful setup tomorrow.

Questions Homeowners Ask Us

Do you take care of permits?
Yes. When a job calls for a permit, we apply for it and schedule whatever inspection the local jurisdiction asks for. Panel work, new circuits, EV chargers and generator connections typically fall in that group. Any permit fee is listed separately on your estimate.
Why does the same breaker keep tripping?
The usual culprits are a circuit asked to carry too much, a short or ground fault somewhere on the run, or a breaker past its working life. Long stretches of summer AC use often expose circuits that were already close to full. We test to pin down the cause instead of just swapping the breaker.
How long is a panel replacement?
The work itself generally takes a single day, and your power is out for a portion of it. The permit, the utility shutoff and the inspection are scheduled around that day, so the whole project runs a bit longer. The full schedule is spelled out in your written estimate.
Is an EV charger possible in my garage?
In most houses, yes. We check the spare capacity in your panel and the distance to where you park, then recommend a circuit and charger to match. When the panel is short on room, we talk through options such as load management before an upgrade comes up.
Will electrical work lower my power bill?
Certain work will. Dimmable LED lights and occupancy sensors, fixing loose connections that bleed power off as heat, and a heat pump wired on a properly sized circuit can each help. Swapping the panel by itself does not cut usage, and we tell you that up front.
What happens during a torque and clean?
We shut off power to the panel, remove the cover and go over each breaker and lug. Any terminal that has backed off after years of heating and cooling gets tightened to the maker's spec, and we clean out dust and debris. Loose terminals run hot, waste a bit of power and wear breakers out sooner. You receive a short written report when we finish.
Should I pick a generator or a battery backup system?
It depends on which loads you want covered and for how long. A standby generator can carry heavy equipment like central air through a long outage. A battery is silent and suits key circuits such as the refrigerator, lighting and internet. We look at your panel and what matters most to you, then compare running costs and maintenance for each before you decide.

Why Homeowners Choose Us

Good electrical work is mostly invisible once the covers go back on. What you notice is a home that runs quietly and without wasted power.

Credentials you can check

We are a licensed electrical contractor, TECL 36609, and we have been doing this work for 5 years. We are also NABCEP certified, and that background shapes how we approach battery backup and load planning.

Efficiency where it is real

We point out where a change will lower running costs, such as LED fixtures on dimmers, a properly sized circuit for a new heat pump, or a smart load setup for an EV charger. Where an upgrade will not pay you back, we say so.

Materials chosen with care

We use copper conductors sized for the load, quality breakers matched to your panel, and fixtures rated for where they live, whether that is a damp porch or an insulated attic. Better parts run cooler and last longer.

A tidy, finished result

We lay drop cloths, cut drywall cleanly, patch what we open where the scope includes it, and label every breaker we touch. You get a neat panel schedule, not a handwritten guess.

Clear findings before any work

You see what we found, often with photos, and a written estimate broken into line items before anything starts.
